MAAPTK
MAAP Toolkit (Master Air Attack Planning Toolkit) is a planning tool used in the Air and Space Operations Center (AOC) to develop missions for inclusion into an Air Tasking Order (ATO). The MAAP Toolkit application provides near real time battlespace information that enables planners to visualize and generate battle plans that are accurate and appropriate to developing situations. Planners can view key information on tables, timelines, maps, graphs, and grids so that they can quickly understand the essential elements of a situation, and they can create the appropriate missions and packages using simple drag-and-drop operations. Because the MAAPTK software minimizes the need for MAAP personnel to plot resource information manually on paper, it significantly streamlines the MAAP and ATO production process and reduces manpower requirements in the AOC. In addition, MAAP Toolkit enables planners to create MS PowerPoint presentations that provide an overview of packages/missions.

MAAP Toolkit connects to external data sources to retrieve FrOB, target, airspace
and any other data relevant to the mission planning process.
MAAPTK’s ability to access information from various databases is unequaled in the AOC. MAAP Toolkit accesses data from various Theater Battle Management Core System (TBMCS) databases as well as from the Modernized Integrated Database (MIDB) and this capability enables MAAP planners to view information about Friendly Order of Battle (FrOB) resources, targets, and airspaces from a single interface. In addition, MAAPTK, as a result of its underlying WebTAS technology, can be connected to other data sources to view other types of data without additional software development.
Initially developed for Joint Expeditionary Forces Experiment (JEFX) 2002, MAAP Toolkit version 1.2 was fielded with TBMCS 1.1.3 in 2004. MAAPTK 1.2+ SP1 fielded to every USAF AOC beginning in 2008 and includes capabilities for air refueling pairing (Air Refueling Toolkit – ARTK) and precision guidance munitions (Automated Coordinate Transfer – ACT). MAAPTK 2.0 just completed USAF AOC testing and will begin fielding summer of 2012.
