Machine learning at ISS involves a multi-faceted approach to building intelligent applications that solve complex problems. With solutions that encompass fuzzy complex event processing (CEP), semantic web technology, uncertainty propagation, intelligent data description and knowledge evolution, we are poised to solve the challenges of today’s threat landscape.

ISS’s various machine learning-based applications perform pattern detection and alerting services to support event-driven systems such as ISS’s WebTAS, an AFRL-sponsored government-off-the-shelf (GOTS) toolkit providing visualization, integration and analysis of disparate data in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) compliant platform. By providing predictive reasoning and analysis, ISS’s machine learning applications provide analysts with a unique opportunity to thwart potentially damaging situations by maintaining real time situational awareness.
